26th September 2003- International Seminar on ‘Information Security–Challenges post 9/11

Seminar on ‘Information Security – Challenges post 9/11’held at Taj Krishna on 26-09-03 at Hyderabad to discuss the information security issues present today, and how they relate to the post 9-11 aftermath.

The goal of this seminar was to gather officials from the government, Banking and industrial sectors to bring awareness, to identify the threats facing us today, and to understand the steps, solutions and implementation to counter and protect these critical infrastructures.

It is our belief - and indeed experience has proven likewise, that any information online is at potential risk from unknown sources. Protection of networks then, assumes key significance, especially in the aftermath of the events of 9/11. The timing of the Seminar is not merely a co-incidence. Earlier this month we observed the second anniversary of the ghastly events of 9/11.

Hosting this seminar is our way of paying homage to all those innocent people who lost their lives in the mindless carnage, not only at Ground Zero, but all across the world in similar attacks. The underlying idea of the Seminar would be to emphasize the need for Information Security. In this endeavor, we must take the first step by securing our networks.

It is heartening to note that numerous minds think likewise. A glance at the names listed here, who have consented to be part of the deliberations, will perhaps speak volumes:
